Equal Access
And why it’s integral.
If you would like to attend classes and are financially unable, we have low income support available. You will never be asked to divulge the details of your circumstances, simply drop us an email and we will happily organise your attendance.
At the Prana Project, we understand that personal wellness always falls under the umbrella of collective wellness. Regardless of how much work we put in to maintain our own minds and bodies, without a fully functioning National Health Service, equitable basic living wages, collective liberation, diverse and stable climate health etc… we will never move past an individualistic understanding of health. Mindful living is not solely concerned with the internal but the external too; we recognize the importance of acknowledging that an altruistic understanding of wellbeing is the most beneficial approach for all and it is the 5 Yamas that help us draw this conclusion.
Ahimsa - Non Violence
Satya - Honesty/Truthfulness
Asteya - Non Stealing
Brahmacharya - Right use of Energy
Aparigraha - Non attachment, non possession
Often in wellbeing centred spaces, collective health is not acknowledged or actively addressed. We believe that a mindful understanding of health must address that not everyone has access to the same resources and that through work/practices that promote collective education on ALL facets of health, we too will have improved our own wellbeing significantly more than if we were only concerned with our own individual ‘wellness’.
Current Updates
06/08/2024 - For those affected by the rioting and violence happening across the UK currently, we are offering meditation sessions free of charge in person and via Zoom.
It can be overwhelming and disempowering not knowing how to help those impacted, we may want to see relief and healing in our communities but not know how to achieve that while so much division and violence is present. To create a firm foundation of personal being which embodies trust, respect and unity allows us to make a difference in the lives of those who need our love and support right now.
If you would like to schedule a meditative relief session drop Margaret an email to schedule. We will run these sessions until further notice.
Our sincerest prayers and love are with all those impacted by racism.
